If we consider yachts and sea tourism, then we can safely dispel the myth about their high prices and availability - only to the “richest of this world”. Luckily in the modern world, a yacht rental is an actively developing type of recreation that is available nearly to any class of the human population.
If you consider yachts from the side of buying and owning a vessel, then it is undoubtedly very expensive and prestigious. The owners of VIP superyachts are representatives of the richest and most influential people in the world. Putin's yacht is one of the most luxurious yachts in Russia. It is not a surprising, because the head of state (which is also considered a maritime power) often has to conduct business negotiations with important people and representatives of other countries at sea, and this requires a luxury yacht. Olympia is a 57-meter mega yacht, produced by the Dutch shipyard Feadship, which was built in 2002. The estimated cost of Mr. Putin's yacht is $ 50 million.
Olympia has a very unusual appearance and original design. The Dutch company "De Voogt Naval Architects" worked hard on its creation. The yacht's interior was beautifully designed by Mark Hampton.
The vessel can accommodate 10 guests, as well as 16 crew members. Yachts of this class have at least 10 cabins, each of which is designed for several guests. The presidential cabin is located on a separate deck and is equipped at the highest level. The bathtub in the presidential cabin is made of pink marble and is 1/3 the width of the ship. All cabins are equipped with the latest generation appliances and furniture (for example, in cabins there are beds, which do not change their horizontal position (even with any bigger swing of the hull). The interior of the yacht has elements of gilding and everything is fabricated of expensive materials.
Putin's yacht is made of high-strength steel and the decks are covered with first class teak. One of the decks is equipped with a Jacuzzi and a bar. Experts estimate the interior of the Olympia with millions of dollars despite the simple fact that it is impossible to announce the exact number because whole information about the owner of the yacht and its equipment remains still a state secret to the public.
Olympia is not for rent! This fact is easily explained by the official statement that the yacht is a presidential property. Even if you want to rent a yacht hypothetically, the rent would start somewhere from 250 thousand dollars a week. Such rental price is unreasonably high and you can organize a vacation on a yacht easily for a much lower amount.
